Test Status

The status property indicates the final outcome of a test case. It is a required field on every Test Object and must be one of five allowed values.

Status Values

StatusDescription
passedThe test successfully met all assertions and criteria.
failedThe test did not meet the expected criteria-an assertion failed or an error occurred.
skippedThe test was intentionally not executed, typically due to a skip annotation or conditional logic.
pendingThe test is defined but not yet implemented, or is awaiting some condition to be fulfilled before execution.
otherA catch-all status for outcomes that cannot be mapped to the predefined statuses. Use this for tool-specific statuses that don't fit the standard values.

Usage Notes

  • The status field represents the final outcome of the test, not intermediate states
  • For tests with retries, the status reflects the outcome of the last attempt
  • The original tool-specific status can be preserved in the rawStatus field if normalization occurred
  • Steps within a test also use the same status values
